As part of the mEATquality project, we aim to improve pork and broiler meat quality by promoting extensive husbandry practices that support animal welfare, environmental care, and economic viability. To better understand what motivates farmers to make this transition, we interviewed three producers from across Europe.
We are pleased to share their stories:
Germany – Jürgen and Lukas Eiberger, Biohof Eiberger GbR
Poland – Maciej Feddek, Pstra Wybiegana
Italy – Sergio Visini, PIGGLY, Birla Società Agricola S.R.L.
These interviews reveal different paths toward more sustainable farming, yet all three farmers share the same goal: raising animals in ways that respect their
wellbeing, protect natural resources, and strengthen rural communities — all while remaining economically sustainable.
Their experiences provide valuable insights for supporting farmers across Europe as they adopt practices that enhance meat quality and build consumer
trust.
